Women, We Know We Need to ACT NOW!
We've talked about it before... something has changed since the November election. Women are gathering in homes and on the internet, looking for ways to take charge of the things they care about...
Suit up ladies. It's game on!
You've been in the fight for a healthy climate for a while now. That's why we are asking YOU, our CoolMoms, CoolSisters, CoolMothers and CoolDaughters, to help us harness the energy of the thousands of women who are raising hands and saying, I want—I need—to be involved in the climate movement now!
WHAT: Join CoolMom to kick-off our new program, Washington Women for Climate Action Now!
WHEN: Wednesday, December 14 from 7 to 9 p.m
WHERE: University Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 4731 15th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98105. While there is street parking within a reasonable distance, we encourage carpooling and bussing where possible.
WHO'S INVITED: EVERY WOMAN who believes in a healthy climate for every Washington state resident; EVERY WOMAN who refuses to be silenced by the gender politics of 2016; and EVERY WOMAN who believes that Washington state can and should lead the rest of the nation in fighting for robust climate policies. (Men and dad's are always welcome too...)
WHAT'S YOUR ROLE? Come to the kick-off and bring two or more friends who want to learn more about WashingtonWomenCAN, and are ready to shape a new women's climate movement!
GUEST SPEAKER: Hilary Franz, Public Lands Commissioner-Elect, will lead a discusion about the important role women must play in climate action now, and we will learn about gender as an issue in climate equity.
PLUS! A peek at a new women's media campaign, story sharing, actions you can take now, and planning sesssions.
