An Event Leader can be any member who is interested in leading an activity, event or taking the lead for planning the groups overall events. This can also be as simple as a member who chooses to host and organize a one-time activity like a potluck or movie night for the group. Activity Leader. A CoolMom member who plans and helps organize an activity(s) that incorporates sustainable practices and an activity goal of educating folks about climate change and/or reducing carbon. Some activities may include planning a potluck, bike to a park, visit to a local farm, member or community movie night, home energy self-audits or arranging for speakers to attend a meeting. This person would be the point person for the activity, but may require other member support to complete the activity. Do you like to write, research and have an interest in grant writing? CoolMom needs you! We are regularly writing grant applications to local and state governments and foundations to obtain funding for the larger organization. CoolMom seeks grant writers with some experience researching grants, writing letters of intent and full proposals, and tracking funding resources. The grant writer's job is to make the best case possible to appropriate funding organizations on behalf of CoolMom. This position is part-time and the hours are flexible. This position is location specific as this volunteer would be working with the Executive Director of CoolMom, currently located in Seattle, WA. Contact CoolMom at email@example.com.
If you have a hankering for writing short topics and you have an understanding of what moms, dads and families need, then we have the position for you. The CoolMom website is a dynamic and interactive site that requires weekly attention. Because the website is one of our main sources of communication with our membership, the overall content and blog posts are important to keep current and up-to-date. Green Parenting Lecturer
If you would like experience teaching parents or already have that in your experience 'back pack', then you will enjoy this volunteer opportunity. CoolMom has put together a Green Parenting Lecture that provides education to parents and caregivers about the basics of climate change, sustainable living practices, and learning resources. The lecture is approximately an hour and a half long and is designed to be presented in teams of two, but not required.
