Last year, about 900 local nonprofits (including CoolMom!) participated and a whopping 18,800 donations were made to regional nonprofits, totaling more than 3.5 million dollars.
A “stretch pool” of an additional $500,000 was provided by GiveBIG partners, bringing the total amount raised to more than $4 million. The stretch pool was distributed among the 900 nonprofits that received donations during GiveBIG. Each nonprofit received a portion of the stretch pool according to the percentage it received of the total amount of GiveBIG donations.
The average gift size was $189.99 and the most donations received by a single organization was The Seattle Public Library Foundation.
We are gearing up for year two! GiveBIG will be on Wednesday, May 2. Please mark your calendars and support CoolMom on this day of giving BIG. The more we raise on May 2 through the GiveBIG Challenge, the more of the “stretch pool” CoolMom receives.
To count toward the GiveBIG challenge, donations must be made between the hours of midnight and midnight (Pacific Time) on May 2, and they must be made through the Seattle Foundation website. Each nonprofit has a profile page set up and you must use a credit card to donate.
Throughout GiveBIG, donors will be chosen at random to have an additional $1,000 given to the charity that received their donation. Golden Ticket winners will also be eligible to win airline tickets, gift cards, and more!
