YAKIMA NEWS

Here in the Yakima Valley, we are moving from the planning phases of our chapter and starting to get involved in the community. There is much more interest than I had anticipated, and my email list is growing! This group is interested in trying to find ways to be more Earth friendly in our unique community. We have done a park cleanup and have had playgroups where one must do their best to find alternative transport to a local park.
We are hoping to get involved with our local farmer's market, Folklife Festival, and learn more about composting and gardening. Other things we are hoping to learn more about are canning our own local produce and also how to sew. The more interest that comes my way, the more help I am finding. I have personally been given a great feeling of hope for my community. Just knowing I am not alone in wanting to protect the planet makes all the difference!
